talabat mart, the grocery and retail division of talabat Egypt, has officially opened the largest quick-commerce (Q-commerce) distribution centre in the Middle East, located in YANMU East Logistics Park on the Cairo–Suez Road.

The 22,405-square-metre facility is positioned to become the central logistics hub for talabat mart’s operations in Egypt.

It will support a network of more than 60 dark stores expected by the end of 2025.

The centre, with a capacity to handle 1.6 million items daily, is designed to respond to growing demand for rapid delivery services.

The development is a joint effort with Hassan Allam Utilities, AP Moller Capital, and Agility.

The facility is EDGE-certified for environmental sustainability and incorporates technologies aimed at streamlining logistics operations and reducing energy consumption. These include automated picking towers, radio shuttle systems, and selective racking.

According to talabat mart, the centre will create 500 direct jobs and additional indirect employment through partner networks. It also features systems for food safety monitoring and employee amenities such as designated rest areas and wellness programmes.

"The partnership reflects broader efforts to expand modern logistics infrastructure in Egypt," said Karim Hefzy, the chief operating officer of Hassan Allam Utilities.

The new site is part of talabat mart’s wider strategy to scale up retail logistics in the region and improve service reliability and delivery speed amid growing competition in the Q-commerce sector.

Egypt plans to be a global logistics hub that serves the international trade flow and attracts investments.

It also plans to establish a network of 31 dry ports and logistics zones across the country.
