On Wednesday, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly issued a decree designating Thursday, 24 July, as an official paid holiday in observance of the anniversary of the 23 July Revolution.

The holiday, initially scheduled for Wednesday, 23 July, has been postponed by one day, aligning with the government's policy of shifting midweek public holidays to Thursdays to create extended weekends.

The decision aligns with the government’s effort to unify holiday dates for all sectors to highlight their national significance, the statement read.

The decision allows employers to require work on that day if necessary, as long as they provide employees with double pay in addition to their regular wage.

On this occasion, Minister Gobran congratulated the Egyptian people and workers, wishing them prosperity, progress, and continued success.

The day marks the 23 July 1952 Revolution, which ended the British occupation of Egypt and introduced major social and economic reforms.
