The two ministers noted that this progress reflects a qualitative leap toward comprehensive development in both countries, according to a foreign ministry statement.
This progress has been demonstrated by the establishment of the Egyptian-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council, they added.
The council "aims to elevate cooperation to meet the aspirations of both nations and ensure joint action to bolster economic, investment, and trade ties," read the statement.
Abdelatty, for his part, condemned what he called "desperate attempts" by some "irresponsible online platforms" to undermine the "historical Egyptian-Saudi relations" or to "offend the two brotherly countries and cast doubt on the strength of their relationship."
He underscored the "strength of these fraternal relations," the statement noted.
Regional crises on table
Furthermore, the two sides discussed pressing regional developments during their meeting, with a primary focus on the Palestinian cause and the situation in Syria.
Abdelatty detailed Egypt's ongoing efforts to broker a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
He also highlighted intensive diplomatic contacts with all parties involved to ensure the unhindered delivery to Gaza of humanitarian aid, which Israel has blocked for months, leaving residents struggling for food, water, and medicine.
Abdelatty also reiterated Egypt's intention to host a conference for the reconstruction of the strip, the statement added.
Additionally, the two ministers condemned recent Israeli attacks on Syrian territory, including the targeting of the Tishreen Presidential Palace and the General Staff Complex in Damascus.
They cited these actions as violations of Syria's sovereignty, unity, and integrity.
Both sides stressed that Israel must withdraw from all Syrian territories occupied since 1967, including the Golan Heights. They also affirmed the importance of respecting Syria's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.
Moreover, the ministers addressed the latest developments in Libya. Abdelatty outlined Egypt's commitment to supporting a Libyan-led solution, free from external influences, as well as fostering national consensus and upholding Libyan national institutions.
He also called for concerted international efforts to restore security and stability across the oil-rich country.
In addition, the two sides discussed the ongoing efforts to resolve the Sudanese crisis. They reaffirmed their shared commitment to Sudan's unity and territorial integrity, rejecting foreign interference.
Both ministers also asserted the necessity of preserving Sudan's national institutions and the interests of its people.
