As part of the agreement, Barcelona's professional teams will wear the slogan "R.D. Congo – Cœur d’Afrique" ("Heart of Africa") on the back of their training shirts for the next four seasons. The DRC has been named an Official Empowerment Partner for Sports and Culture, with the deal focused on youth development and grassroots sport.
The Spotify Camp Nou will host a "House of the DRC" exhibition space at its facilities, offering fans an immersive cultural experience highlighting Congolese heritage and sporting tradition.
“This agreement signifies a shared commitment to fostering multi-sport development within the DRC,” Barcelona said in a statement. “As part of this collaboration, the club will contribute to enriching the training of the country’s young athletes by transferring its ecosystem of values – an indisputable pillar of the Barça model and style.”
Through its global youth training initiative, Barça Academies, the club will launch sports programs in the DRC, including camps and clinics aimed at structured, inclusive development for children.
The agreement also includes educational programs for adults through the Barça Innovation Hub (BIHUB), focusing on coach development in areas such as advanced technical training, age-specific sport structuring, sports science integration, and the organization of events and clinics.
The House of the DRC will also be part of the club's future Espai Barça project, showcasing the cultural and sporting identity of the DRC to millions of visitors each year.
Last month, AC Milan and AS Monaco announced similar partnership agreements with the Central African country.
