The Israeli military also shelled an agricultural facility in the same town, which Palestinian fighters were reportedly using for cover, destroying the structure completely, sources told Al Jazeera.
Elsewhere in the West Bank, three Palestinians—including a wounded teenager—were arrested after Israeli troops raided and searched their family homes south of Bethlehem.
Seven other Palestinians were detained in Hebron following similar home raids, during which Israeli soldiers vandalized their properties.
Israeli forces also carried out raids in Ramallah and several surrounding towns and villages.
According to a report released on Sunday by the Palestinian Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, Israel has arrested around 18,500 Palestinians in the West Bank since it launched its genocidal war on Gaza on 7 October 2023.
Israeli army and settler violence in the West Bank has sharply escalated since the start of the war, with increasingly deadly operations, particularly in the north. Refugee camps in Jenin and Tulkarem have been the focal point of a months-long military campaign launched by the Israeli army in January.
The offensive has killed dozens, demolished more than 600 homes, and displaced thousands, according to Palestinian officials.
In July, the United Nations (UN) warned that mass displacement in the West Bank had reached levels not seen since Israel first occupied the territory in 1967.
According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), at least 6,463 Palestinians were forcibly displaced between 7 October 2023 and 31 May 2025 following the demolition of their homes by Israeli authorities.
That figure does not include an estimated 40,000 people who fled three refugee camps in Jenin and Tulkarem since January due to military operations, or the 2,200 displaced by settler attacks and movement restrictions during the same period.
According to Palestinian government figures, at least 1,012 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 7,000 injured in the West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem, since the war on Gaza began.
