The NCHR reported through its 24-hour central operations room an increase in voter turnout during the daytime hours, particularly in areas with medium population density.
The room relies on real-time reports from field teams deployed across all governorates, as well as feedback and complaints submitted through designated communication channels.
The council noted that field teams also documented several positive practices, such as measures taken to facilitate voting for elderly citizens and persons with disabilities, in addition to noticeable compliance with organisational procedures around polling stations.
Abdel-Gawad Ahmed, who supervises the NCHR’s central operations room, stated that monitoring efforts follow a precise methodology designed to ensure rapid reporting and response to observations.
He emphasised that the field teams are trained to report strengths and shortcomings without interfering in the voting process, according to a statement released on Tuesday evening.
He also highlighted the cooperation between electoral authorities and civil society, which he said reflects a genuine commitment to transparency and electoral stability.
Ahmed also stressed that the council takes all incoming observations seriously, working to document and analyse them professionally and within the legal framework governing its operations.
The final assessment, he noted, will be based on verifiable and well-documented data.
The NCHR affirmed its continued oversight of the electoral process until the end of voting to help ensure that the elections are conducted in a fair, orderly, and democratic environment.
On Tuesday morning, the second and final day of domestic voting in Egypt’s 2025 Senate elections kicked off across 8,286 polling stations nationwide under full judicial supervision.
The Senate, Egypt’s upper chamber of parliament, serves in a consultative capacity, with legislative authority residing in the House of Representatives.
