The Young Pharaohs trailed 18-14 at halftime but mounted a strong second-half comeback, outscoring Japan 22-10 to seal their third consecutive victory in Group G.
The tournament is being hosted by Egypt from 6 to 17 August with participation of 32 teams.
The hosts opened their campaign with a 46-27 win over South Korea and followed it up with a 36-28 victory against Bahrain.
Saturday’s win over Japan ensured Egypt topped Group G with a perfect record.
Egypt will now compete in Group D of the main round alongside Japan, Denmark, and the Czech Republic.
They face the Czech Republic in their first main round fixture on Monday.
