A gradual rise in temperatures is expected from Monday through Friday, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said. Evenings and early mornings will bring little relief, with humidity keeping the air sticky well after sunset.
Rain of varying intensity is forecast over parts of central and southern Sinai, the Red Sea mountains, and southern Upper Egypt from Monday to Thursday.
By Friday, changing wind patterns will sweep parts of the eastern coasts, Greater Cairo, South Sinai, and southern Egypt.
Greater Cairo will start the week at 39°C, climbing to 40°C by the weekend. The North Coast will edge from 33°C on Monday to 35°C by Friday, while northern Upper Egypt bakes at 41°C to 44°C, and the far south holds steady at 46°C.
Humidity will make it all feel several degrees hotter.
