Evenings and early mornings will remain uncomfortably warm and humid, with little relief until the cooler air settles in.
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) warns of a chance of light-to-moderate rain — occasionally thundery — over parts of central and southern Sinai, the Red Sea mountains, and parts of Egypt's deep south on Thursday.
Winds will stir intermittently across Greater Cairo, Egypt's deep south, and South Sinai on Thursday and Friday.
In Greater Cairo, Thursday will open at a sweltering 42°C, gradually settling at a more bearable 36°C on Saturday through Monday.
Along the North Coast, holidaymakers can expect a gentler climate, peaking at 35°C on Thursday, sliding to 32°C on Friday, and then cooling to 30°C by Saturday.
Northern Upper Egypt will see the mercury climb to 44°C on Thursday but cool to 38°C by Saturday, sliding to 37°C by Monday.
However, the deep south will be scorched at 49°C before easing to 43°C by next week.
While the forecast offers hope of respite, the lingering humidity will make the air feel hotter than the numbers suggest.
