Egypt delivered 45,000 trucks to Gaza since war began: Army spox

Egypt has continued to support the Palestinian people, managing since the start of the crisis to deliver more than 70 percent of all aid that has entered the Gaza Strip so far; a total of 45,125 trucks.

The Egyptian steadfast support to the Palestinians, led by its Armed forces, comes despite Israeli restrictions confirmed by more than 100 non-governmental relief organisations.

The aid trucks have carried over 500,000 tons of medical and food supplies, including 368,000 tons from Egypt and 132,000 tons from other countries, along with 209 ambulances and 81,380 tons of fuel.

Additionally, El-Arish Airport has received 1,022 aircraft loaded with over 27,247 tons of international aid, while El-Arish Port has received 32 ships carrying about 74,779 tons of relief materials.

Israel’s control of the Rafah crossing from the Palestinian side since 7 May 2024, followed by its destruction, has halted aid entry to Gaza through this vital route, increasing reliance on airdrop operations and the Karm Abu Salem crossing.

Since the outbreak of the crisis, the Egyptian Armed Forces have carried out 168 airdrop operations, delivering 3,730 tons of aid, while Egyptian hospitals have treated more than 18,560 injured Palestinians.

Between 27 July and 14 August 2025, 25 airdrop operations have delivered 24 tons of aid to Gaza amid the continued closure of the Rafah crossing from the Palestinian side.

During the same period, 1,341 trucks have entered Gaza through the Karm Abu Salem crossing, while over 5,000 trucks remain stranded in Egypt awaiting the reopening of the crossings.

On Friday, the Egyptian Armed Forces spokesperson Brigadier General Gharib Abdel Hafez released a video showcasing Egypt’s ongoing humanitarian efforts for Gaza.

The video detailed the journey of aid convoys crossing Egyptian territory toward the Rafah crossing, then heading south to the Al-Awja crossing.

The trucks then head to the Nitzana crossing for inspection -- a process taking 18 to 24 hours -- before entering the Gaza Strip via the Palestinian Red Crescent.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) trucks pass through the Karm Abu Salem crossing into Gaza.
