Organized by the Ministry of Culture in cooperation with the Visual Arts Sector and the Cultural Development Fund, the exhibition brings together works by 25 Egyptian artists, showcasing a wide range of techniques, styles, and media.
“The paintings and sculptures featured in the exhibition are invaluable testimonies to the timeless inspiration Um Kalthoum has represented for multiple generations,” the ministry stated.
In addition to contemporary visual artworks, the show offers a journey into the memory of the iconic singer through archival material from the Egyptian press.
“Original pages from newspapers and magazines will retrace the extraordinary and exceptional journey of Um Kalthoum over nearly a century,” the ministry added.
Visitors to the Palace of Arts will also be able to admire rare items from the Um Kalthoum Museum in Cairo’s Manial district, including pieces from the diva’s private collection.
The exhibition is part of the ministry’s decision to designate 2025 as the Year of Um Kalthoum, marking the 50th anniversary of the death of the Star of the East (1898–1975). Year-long celebrations will include concerts, film screenings, and exhibitions.
Egypt's Voice runs until 18 November at the Palace of Arts, Cairo Opera House grounds, Zamalek, Cairo.
