According to the Egyptian Presidency, El-Sisi reviewed the plans during a meeting that included Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfik, Communications and Information Technology Minister Amr Talaat, General Intelligence Chief Hassan Rashad, Acting Head of the Administrative Control Authority Amr Adel Hosni, and Armed Forces Signal Department Director Hany Mahmoud Mansour.
The Egyptian presidency added that El-Sisi issued instructions to continue reinforcing network capabilities to ensure wider coverage and maximum use of modern technologies—particularly 5G.
Following the meeting, Communications and Information Technology Minister Amr Talaat gave a presentation outlining the ministry's activities.
Talaat noted that since November 2022, 74 outsourcing companies have committed to hiring 60,000 specialists in Egypt by 2024.
He added that Egypt now hosts more than 260 outsourcing centres, including around 190 operated by international firms.
Furthermore, Talaat noted that 83 companies are currently active in the field of electronics design, with plans to increase that number to 120 by 2028. He also highlighted Egypt's regional leadership in attracting ICT startups investments.
The presidency added that El-Sisi reaffirmed that the state fully supports the ICT sector, especially in launching initiatives and establishing specialised centres to qualify talents.
He emphasised that candidates should be selected based on strict and objective criteria, and that they should receive the best possible training.
El-Sisi also called for clear, actionable strategies to apply artificial intelligence, focusing on research, development, training, and optimal use of available resources.
