Organized by GITEX Global in partnership with Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), the event is billed as the region’s largest tech gathering, bringing together policymakers, multinational firms, startups, investors, and AI experts from more than 60 countries.
The summit will include ministerial-level talks on AI policies, an international exhibition of new applications and solutions, and specialized sessions on large language models, machine learning, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things.
An innovation hackathon will also be held to encourage youth participation and link emerging talent with global investors, including more than 200 venture capital firms from the GITEX network.
Communications minister Amr Talaat said Cairo’s hosting of the event underscores Egypt’s position on the global technology map and its commitment to advancing digital transformation.
He added that AI was now central to Egypt’s national digital strategy and to efforts to drive sustainable development.
The ministry said the summit reflects Egypt’s push to accelerate the adoption of AI across key sectors.
Recent initiatives include two editions of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, the creation of a National Council for AI, and the launch of an Applied Innovation Centre.
