National Press Authority reviews development of foreign-language publications in Egypt

The National Press Authority (NPA) has held consecutive meetings with the editorial boards of Al-Ahram Hebdo and Al-Ahram Weekly, as well as their French- and English-language online portals, to discuss strategies for developing foreign-language publications and modernising their management in line with global media trends.

This week, NPA Chairman Eng. Abdel-Sadeq Al-Shorbagi met with Al-Ahram Hebdo’s editorial board and the French-language portal, chaired by Editor-in-Chief Nevine Kamel.

Last week, he held similar talks with Al-Ahram Weekly and the English-language portal, Ahram Online, chaired by Editor-in-Chief Ezzat Ibrahim.

The meetings provided an opportunity for editorial teams to outline the main challenges they face.

Attendees included Alaa Thabet, NPA Deputy Chairman; Hamdy Rizk and Amr El-Khayat, board members; and Dr. Ahmed Mokhtar, investment affairs adviser.
