The Egyptian international received a precise pass from French starlet winger Bahereba "Herba" Guirassy on the left flank in the 8th minute, sending a right-footed shot past Auxerre's goalkeeper.
A regular starter since the beginning of the season, Mohamed grabbed his first goal of the 2025/2026 season.
The win is significant for Nantes, who had suffered defeats in their opening two league matches. The 27-year-old forward continued to threaten the goal before being substituted in the 87th minute.
With this goal, Mostafa Mohamed raised his scoring tally to 26 goals in 114 appearances across all competitions since joining the club in 2022.
However, last season, the Egyptian striker struggled, netting only 6 goals and providing 1 assist in 32 matches.
During the summer transfer window, reports linked Mostafa Mohamed with a move away from his Ligue 1 side, with interest from clubs including Panathinaikos of Greece, as well as French teams Lens and Nice, and Saudi side NEOM.
