Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theatre
1–8 September | Cairo
The 32nd edition of the Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theatre launched on 1 September and continues until 8 September.
The programme presents plays from Egypt and abroad, complemented by seminars, round tables, and workshops, many of which feature leading theatre specialists from Egypt, the Arab world, and the international theatre scene.

Free Open-Air Concerts
Until 11 September | 9 pm | Hanager Arts Centre, Cairo Opera House Grounds, Zamalek
The Theatre Sector, headed by director Khaled Galal, is presenting a series of free music performances at the open-air stage in front of the Hanager Arts Centre, located on the grounds of the Cairo Opera House.
The initiative, which launched on Thursday, 28 August, will continue until Thursday, 11 September. All concerts begin at 9:00 pm and are free to the public.
The upcoming concerts will feature singers Rabab Nagui, Amira Reda, Fatma Adel, the Folklorita troupe, and the Religious Chanting Ensemble, among others.

100 Years of Singing Concert: Ali El-Haggar
Thursday 4 September | 9pm | Cairo Opera House, Main Hall
As part of the '100 Years of Singing Concerts ' series, the evening will honour Ali El-Haggar and his decades-long career, alongside many other iconic musicians who have contributed to the development of Egyptian Arabic music over the past few decades.
El-Haggar will be joined on stage by several renowned singers, who will present some of the best works from his repertoire and beyond. His songs carry lyrics drawn from the poetry of Salah Jahin, Abdel-Rahman El-Abnoudy, and Sayed Hegab, set to music by the country's renowned composers, including Baligh Hamdy, Sayed Mekkawy, and Omar Khairat.
Amal Maher and Medhat Saleh (Fundraising Concert)

This double-bill fundraising concert features two celebrated Egyptian singers.
Amal Maher, one of the Arab world's leading female voices of the past two decades, rose to prominence with her powerful voice and her unique ability to interpret Umm Kalthoum's repertoire.
Medhat Saleh is best known for songs such as Kawkab Tany (Another Planet), Wala Teswa Domou (Not Worth the Tears), and El-Donia Alemetny (Life Taught Me). He has also performed dozens of memorable film scores, including Mafia, El-Beliatsho (The Clown), and Amir El-Zalam (Prince of Darkness).
Paranoid Eyes
Friday 5 September | 8pm | Room Art Space & Café, Garden City
Paranoid Eyes is an Egyptian progressive rock band devoted to covering the music of Pink Floyd, as well as solo projects by the legendary David Gilmour and Roger Waters.
The band's lineup includes Wissam Sultan (lead guitar and vocals), Illia Yurchenko (drums), Yehya Radwan (bass guitar), and Abdalla Nasser (keyboards and background sound effects). For this concert, they will be joined by guest lead guitarist Omar Dafrawi.
Tablet El-Sitt
Friday 5 September | 8 pm | River Hall, El-Sawy Culturewheel, Zamalek
Founded by Soha Mohamed in 2019, the all-female ensemble is dedicated to reviving Egypt's musical heritage. Since its formation, the group has gained widespread recognition, performing in numerous venues across the country.
Cairo Opera Orchestra – Fantasy
Friday 5 September | 9pm | Cairo Opera House, Main Hall
The Cairo Opera Orchestra will open its new season with a concert titled Fantasy. The evening's programme includes well-known arias from operas by Bizet, Verdi, Puccini, Offenbach, and Rossini, as well as works by Omar Khairat.
The soloists will include soprano Mona Rafla, mezzo-soprano Jolie Faizy, tenor Amr Medhat, bass Reda El-Wakil, and bass-baritone Emad Adel. Mohamed Saad Basha will conduct the orchestra.
Cairo Symphony Orchestra – Great Symphonies
Saturday 6 September | 9pm | Cairo Opera House, Main Hall
The Cairo Symphony Orchestra will open its new season under the baton of Ahmed El Saedi. This is also the first concert in a series titled "Great Symphonies," which presents works by Dmitri Shostakovich (1906–1975) to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the composer's death.
The programme will feature Shostakovich's Symphony No. 1 in F minor, Op. 10.
Oriental Percussion Ensemble – Said El-Artist
Tuesday 9 September | 9 pm | Alexandria Opera House (Sayed Darwish Theatre), Alexandria
The Alexandria Opera House will host a grand concert featuring a large ensemble of darbuka players led by the renowned percussionist Said El-Artist.
El-Artist is widely celebrated for his mastery of the tabla (also known as the darbouka, an Egyptian drum). Known for his powerful technique and rhythmic innovation, he has played a central role in popularising Egyptian and Middle Eastern percussion worldwide. He has collaborated with top musicians and dancers, and his performances and instructional materials have inspired generations of drummers.
His energetic style blends traditional rhythms with modern flair, making him a key figure in both classical and contemporary Arabic music.
