The two leaders met on the sidelines of the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha, Qatar, which convened to address Israel’s strike on the Gulf state and its ongoing war on Gaza.
According to the Egyptian presidency, El-Sisi and Erdogan strongly condemned the Israeli attack on Qatar, calling it a blatant violation of international law and the United Nations (UN) Charter.
They stressed the urgency of halting the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and reiterated that lasting regional stability depends on implementing the two-state solution, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The talks also touched on other regional crises, with both leaders emphasizing the need to respect the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and resources of states, while continuing joint efforts to restore regional stability.
The meeting underscored the growing momentum in Egypt–Turkey relations and both sides’ commitment to deeper coordination on bilateral, regional and international issues.
