“The nefarious plans of Israelis and Americans to undermine the Resistance have consistently failed, and these enemies will only experience humiliation,” the IRGC said in a statement carried by the Iran News Agency (IRNA).
The Guards paid tribute to Nasrallah, senior Hezbollah official Hashem Safieddine, and other leaders slain during Israel’s 2024 war on Lebanon, offering condolences to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the families of the dead.
Since the outbreak of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023, Israeli attacks have spilled into Lebanon, killing at least 3,961 people and wounding more than 16,500, according to Lebanese authorities.
The IRGC said “active resistance is the sole rational response to imperialism and Zionism,” warning against “retreat or reliance on humiliating agreements.”
It praised Hezbollah’s deputy leader, Sheikh Naim Qassem, for safeguarding Lebanon’s security and vowed to support the resistance “until the complete liberation of occupied territories.”
A US-brokered ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel was announced in late November 2024 after more than a year of fighting.
While both sides formally agreed to halt hostilities, Israel has continued its air raids across southern Lebanon and Beirut, killing at least 83 people, a third of them women and children, and maintaining its occupation of five sites in the south.
Lebanon’s army says Israel has violated the deal over 4,500 times.
