CAF Champions League holders Pyramids FC defeated Confederation Cup champions Morocco’s RSB Berkane 1-0 to claim the CAF Super Cup title at Cairo’s 30 June Stadium on Saturday.
The Super Cup is Pyramids FC's second continental title, following their prestigious Champions League victory over South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns on 1 June.
“Now I can say that we are kings of Africa,” the Croatian coach told beIN Sports after the game.
“It is difficult to tell you the secret of our success, but the players always want to achieve distinguished goals in their careers, and as a coach I help them by providing the proper atmosphere,” he added.
The big-spending club is also delivering solid performances on the domestic front, and Jurcic has his own strategy for staying competitive in the league title race.
“We will do some rotation in the league and this will be important for us, as we must keep improving,” Jurcic explained.
Pyramids FC have played seven games so far in the Egyptian Premier League, winning four, drawing two, and losing just once to sit eighth with 14 points — four behind leaders Masry, who have played three games more.
“We continuously work to break the routine and to improve our performance gradually, and today we achieved a new title,” the coach said.
“I can give energy to my players, and I am known for that. My continuous reactions from the touchline are meant to give them a morale boost,” he concluded.
