The agreements, which will see the establishment of new factories covering 238,000 square metres, are expected to create over 3,000 direct job opportunities, a SCZone statement noted.

The signing ceremony was held on Monday at the SCZone headquarters in the New Administrative Capital (NAC), attended by Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the General Authority for the SCZone.

The contracts were signed between the authority’s industrial developer, El-Sewedy Industrial Development Company, and the four Chinese investors.

The new facilities will be located within the Sukhna 360 industrial city, a development by El-Sewedy Industrial Development within the Sokhna Industrial Zone.

Chairman Gamal El-Din welcomed the new projects, highlighting that the signing marks a continuation of the region's strong growth trajectory in attracting diverse international investments.

He praised the SCZone's integrated infrastructure, strategic location, and attractive incentives, which have made it a prominent investment destination.

He specifically emphasized the potential of the textile sector within the zone, noting its importance in deepening local manufacturing and increasing the added value of Egyptian products.

“The zone is working to develop an integrated industrial system that encompasses all stages of production, from spinning and weaving to final manufacturing,” Gamal El-Din stated.

He added that attracting major international companies is key to localizing modern technology and transferring technical expertise.

The SCZone, with its six seaports and four industrial zones, aims to serve as a specialized industrial and logistics platform supporting the national economy and achieving sustainable development goals.

Since July 2022, the zone has attracted 334 projects worth $10.4 billion across its ports and industrial zones, including ventures in solar panels, tyres, textiles, metals, and logistics. West Qantara alone has drawn 40 projects worth $1.05 billion, creating nearly 56,000 jobs.

SCZONE also reported record revenues of EGP 11.6 billion in FY 2024/25, up 38 percent year-on-year and 11 percent above budget forecasts, with net profits jumping 51 percent to EGP 8.6 billion.

Revenues reached an all-time high of EGP 8.25 billion in FY 2023/24, marking a 36 percent increase from EGP 6.07 billion in FY 2022/23.
