The NNA said Zeinab Moussa, 82, was killed in an Israeli air strike that targeted a room near the municipality of Arabsalim and its primary school, while Maher Younis, 43, was also killed in the same attack.
Later, the ministry said two more people were killed in a separate strike near the southern city of Nabatieh.
The NNA earlier reported that “Israeli warplanes launched a series of violent strikes on the eastern mountain range” in the Bekaa region near the Syrian border. It also said two strikes targeted the Hermel range in Lebanon’s northeast.
The air raids were accompanied by intense low-altitude flights of Israeli warplanes over the Bekaa Valley. Explosions were heard across the Bekaa mountains, and columns of smoke were seen rising from the targeted areas.
Earlier in the day, the NNA said Israeli unmanned reconnaissance aircraft flew at low altitude over Beirut and its suburbs, marking another breach of Lebanese airspace that coincided with the eastern strikes.
Israel has bombed various towns and villages across Lebanon on hundreds of occasions in violation of a November 2024 ceasefire with Beirut.
By the end of September 2025, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) verified 103 civilian deaths in Lebanon as a result of Israeli strikes post-ceasefire.
More than 80,000 people remain displaced in Lebanon amid ongoing Israeli strikes, according to the OHCHR.
In a statement on 1 Oct, High Commissioner for the Office of Human Rights Volker Turk said, "We are still seeing devastating impacts of jet and drone strikes in residential areas, as well as near UN peacekeepers in the south."
