The SIS Chairman, Diaa Rashwan, stated that preparations for organizing foreign media coverage have been completed, following the same procedures used for the Senate elections.
Accreditation and permits have been granted to 86 foreign media institutions from 32 countries worldwide. These include 21 global news agencies, six regional and international radio and TV networks, 25 foreign TV channels, and 23 newspapers and magazines, of which three are online news platforms.
Countries represented include the United States, Canada, Cuba, Spain, Germany, Austria, Italy, the UK, Belgium, Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, China, Japan, Bangladesh, Turkey, Russia, Vietnam, Jordan, the UAE, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, Morocco, Yemen, Tunisia, Oman, Syria, Palestine, Qatar, and Libya.
Rashwan added that an operations room has been established at the Authority’s Foreign Journalists Press Centre to coordinate and monitor foreign media work during the elections.
Four direct telephone lines, along with other communication channels such as email and WhatsApp messages, have been set up to ensure smooth operations, provide official data, facilitate reporting, and address any obstacles.
The service will also monitor adherence to professional media standards and assess coverage that exceeds those standards.
A joint operations room combining the Authority’s External Media and Information sectors has been set up to track, translate, and analyze foreign media reports on the elections, as well as to correct any inaccurate information.
Meanwhile, the Internal Media sector has begun awareness campaigns through provincial media centres emphasizing the importance of political participation and voting, with a focus on citizenship and national belonging.
One such initiative is the campaign “Egypt for All Its Children.”
