Sat 15, 6pm – 8pm: “Manuscripts and Materiality: Reflections on Where Our Field Stands” as part of the Bayard Dodge Distinguished Visiting Professorship series, join the first lecture by Professor Konrad Hirschler, Professor of Middle Eastern History at the University of Hamburg and a leading scholar at the Centre for the Study of Manuscript Cultures. In this talk, Professor Hirschler offers a critical reflection on current approaches to manuscript studies, with a particular focus on the materiality of texts in the premodern Middle East.
