In only their second appearance in the continental competition, Pyramids captured the CAF Champions League title with a 3-2 aggregate win over South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns.

They also lifted the FIFA African-Asian-Pacific Cup after beating Saudi side Ahly Jeddah 3-1 at home.

Pyramids could yet be declared Egyptian Premier League champions for the 2024–25 season after appealing to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the Egyptian Pro League’s decision to award the title to Ahly.

They pipped Sundowns and Confederation Cup winners RS Berkane of Morocco, who were also in contention for the team award.

Mayele, meanwhile, claimed the Interclub Player of the Year award after a standout campaign.

The forward finished as the CAF Champions League’s top scorer with six goals, playing a pivotal role in Pyramids’ title run.

He also struck a hat-trick in the win over Ahly Jeddah in the FIFA African-Asian-Pacific Cup, helping secure the club’s unprecedented trophy.

Mayele beat out his Pyramids teammate, Moroccan fullback Mohamed Chibi, and RS Berkane striker Oussama Lamlioui for the award.
