Sat 29, 7pm – 9pm (Online Event): “Cairo Papers Talk Series | Palestine: Confronting Genocide — Genocide, Evil and Politics”, Raef Zreik of Ono Academic College will analyze the relevance of the category of "evil" while discussing the topic of genocide and will ask whether the deployment of the concept could be helpful and constructive. The talk will reflect on the intersection between law, morality and politics, and will explore the nature of the concept of genocide and its hidden relation to the concept of evil.

Sat 29, 6pm: As part of Days of Cooperation Between Egypt and Italy in Archaeology and Cultural Heritage, an initiative promoted by the Embassy of Italy, the Italian Cultural Institute, and the Italian Archaeological Centre (CAI-IIC), with the Supreme Council of Antiquities and the Department of Museums, second day conference “Nefertari and Italy: The Story of a Special Relationship” and inauguration of the exhibition on the Tomb of Nefertari (QV 66), from discovery to restoration. A collaborative initiative between the Egyptian Museum of Cairo, the Egyptian Museum of Turin. Keynote speakers: Prof. Ali Abdel-Halim Ali, Director of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo: Prof. Christian Greco, Director of the Egyptian Museum in Turin Guest of Honor: Cristina Vazio, member of the Laura and Paolo Mora restoration team. Exhibition curated by Francis Amin, Archaeologist, Honorary Consul of Italy in Luxor, and Director of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, Prof. Ali Abdel-Halim Ali. The exhibition, based primarily on photographic material but enriched with archaeological finds made available by the museum, will commemorate two key moments in the "special relationship" between Nefertari and Italy: the discovery of her tomb by Ernesto Schiaparelli in 1904 and its restoration (1987–1992), funded by the Getty Foundation but entrusted to a team led by Italian restorers Paolo Mora (1921–1998) and Laura Sbordoni Mora (1923–2015).

Sun 30, 10am – 5pm: As part of “Days of Cooperation Between Egypt and Italy in Archaeology and Cultural Heritage”, the third day will be dedicated to the role of archaeological missions as an integral part of the promotion network of the "Italy system". The programme includes meetings among multiple Egyptian, Italian, and international academic, scientific, and entrepreneurial institutions and will be structured around three main lines: 1. The role of archaeological missions and universities in cooperation between Egypt and Italy for scientific research, heritage promotion, and sustainable development. 2.Multilateral perspectives: the Italian contribution to collaboration between missions and Egyptian, European, and international research institutes. 3.Scientific research and technological innovation for archaeology and cultural heritage: the role of public institutions and the private sector.

Tues 2 Dec, 6.30pm – 8pm: “Egypt’s Investment Climate: Between Global Challenges and National Reforms” a conversation with Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib. The discussion will explore the impact of ongoing measures to improve the investment environment and attract long-term capital, and whether these efforts will lead to new investments in the right sectors.
