President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, attended on Tuesday the aptitude and personal evaluation tests for students applying to join the Egyptian Military Academy
He was received by Lieutenant General Ashraf Zahr, director of the academy, along with the heads of the military colleges.
Presidential spokesperson, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, stated the president attended a briefing on the status of the October 2025 applicants before the start of the aptitude tests.
El-Sisi reiterated that the academy maintains a strict and objective selection process based on the latest scientific standards, applied fairly and transparently through a fully automated system that ensures equal opportunities for all candidates.
He stressed the academy’s pivotal role in shaping Egyptian character and preparing youth to effectively contribute to the state’s development efforts.
El-Sisi highlighted the importance of rigorous selection and high-quality education, training, and assessment systems to ensure genuine evaluation and strong academic performance.
The president also underscored the advanced academic level offered by the Military Medical College, noting that its graduates will be capable of competing with peers from top global medical schools thanks to the college’s advanced curricula, training programmes, and digital governance.
The President announced that qualified applicants, both male and female, can now join the Military Medical College either in a military or civilian capacity.
He also emphasized the academy’s commitment to selecting candidates based on merit and transparency, using advanced scientific criteria applied fairly through a mechanised system. He noted that this ensures equal opportunities for all applicants.
He reassured families about the college’s system and oversight mechanisms, and urged students to focus on academic excellence, noting that the internship year is an integral part of their studies and will involve cooperation with leading international medical schools.
During an interactive dialogue with applicants, El-Sisi addressed several topics, including the economic situation, foreign currency reserves, managing domestic and external debt, and creating job opportunities for youth.
El-Sisi concluded his visit by meeting preachers from the Ministry of Religious Endowments who hold PhDs and are joining a two-year academic programme at the academy, attended by Minister of Endowments Usama El-Azhari.
He said the programme’s 10–12 hours of daily study exceed doctoral requirements and will equip participants with higher academic and intellectual capabilities aimed at fostering genuine enlightenment and countering extremism.
He emphasized the importance of mastering Arabic for proper religious understanding, alongside learning other languages.
The president called on religious leaders to act as guardians of freedom, including freedom of belief, stressing his rejection of all forms of discrimination and destruction.
