According to an ERC statement, the convoy also included over 2,500 tons of flour, more than 3,300 tons of medical and relief supplies, and 1,150 tons of petroleum products.
The shipment is part of Egypt’s ongoing efforts to deliver large-scale humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza, who are facing increasingly severe conditions.
For more than two years, Egypt has served as a key humanitarian lifeline to Gaza, leading one of the most extensive and sustained relief operations in recent history.
Through the ERC, Egypt has coordinated and delivered over 665,000 tons of aid via the Rafah and Karm Abu Salem crossings, despite the ongoing Israeli blockade and repeated operational disruptions.
This nationwide effort has been supported by 943 relief flights, 617 maritime shipments, and coordination with 59 countries, as well as UN agencies and international humanitarian organizations.
Within Gaza, Egypt has facilitated the entry of 214 ambulances, supplied around 91,000 tons of fuel to keep hospitals and essential services running, and coordinated the deployment of four fully equipped field hospitals.
ERC’s logistics network, backed by 35,000 trained volunteers, has delivered tens of thousands of medical, relief, and family-support services, in addition to cash assistance programmes and support for evacuees and patients transferred to Egypt for treatment.
Since 27 July, the Zad Al-Izza: From Egypt to Gaza initiative has expanded ground-based relief, delivering more than 130,000 tons of food, medical supplies, fuel, tents, winter relief items, infant formula, and other necessities.
Egypt has repeatedly emphasized that the Rafah crossing has remained open on its side, underscoring its commitment to maintaining aid deliveries to Gaza despite extremely challenging conditions.
The United Nations (UN) reported that aid deliveries into Gaza still face major obstacles as fighting continues in large parts of the territory.
Most hospitals are reportedly only partially operational, and over 16,500 patients remain in urgent need of medical evacuation.
The UN noted that on Tuesday, only one out of eight planned humanitarian aid movements succeeded, with the rest blocked or canceled.
Recent heavy rains in Gaza have caused flooding in many displacement camps and tent shelters, damaging makeshift homes and worsening the already severe humanitarian crisis.
