The request follows incidents during the club’s 1-1 draw against Moroccan side FAR Rabat in a CAF Champions League group-stage game on Friday.

The match was marred by FAR supporters throwing projectiles onto the pitch, prompting a suspension of several minutes.

he disruption occurred after Libyan referee Ahmed Abdel Razzaq disallowed a goal for FAR due to an offside violation.

Ahly also believe that the referee awarded an "imaginary" penalty to the hosts in the first half.

In a statement, the Egyptian side called on CAF to take all necessary actions to ensure safety before and during matches, in line with the stature of African football.

The club also urged CAF to take significant steps toward implementing the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system in all Champions League matches.

The club emphasized that, as the continent’s premier competition, VAR is crucial to ensuring fairness for all teams.

Currently, VAR is only used from the quarter-finals onwards in CAF clubs’ competitions.

Ahly also stressed the importance of appointing top-tier referees capable of handling high-pressure, competitive matches.

The club further called for the strict enforcement of CAF regulations to ensure that all parties involved comply with the rules, upholding fairness and justice across the competition.

Ahly currently lead their group with four points, level with Tanzanian side Young Africans, who held Algeria’s JS Kabylie to a goalless draw away on Friday.
