The minister introduced the “Rad’e 300,” a multi-caliber tracked guided rocket launcher capable of firing different calibers at targets up to 300 km away. The system can operate on paved and unpaved terrain, with a top speed of 40 km/h.

He also highlighted the “Sina 806,” one of the ministry’s newest products, which is an armoured recovery and repair vehicle that supports the “Sina 200” armoured formations.

The vehicle carries out essential battlefield repair and recovery tasks for tracked “Sina 200” units and is equipped with a two-ton lifting winch, a towing winch that can pull 15 tons (expandable to 30 tons), and all necessary tools, equipment, and storage for spare parts. It offers the same level of protection as the “Sina 200” and is fully manufactured in Egypt.

He added that, for the first time, a light 4×4 vehicle has been fitted with the upgraded 23mm twin-barrel anti-aircraft gun after modifying the weapon to reduce recoil. The gun can now be mounted on a light platform and used against ground and aerial targets.

It has a firing rate of 1,600 rounds per minute, an effective range of more than 2 km against ground targets and 2.5 km against aerial targets, and can operate in dual-barrel or single-barrel mode.

Minister Mostafa also announced a major industrial development: the production of armoured steel in Egypt.

The ministry has succeeded in producing and improving armoured steel plates to 30 mm thickness (up from 15 mm) and 240 cm width (up from 150 cm), with further expansion planned.

Local production of armoured steel will help Egypt achieve self-sufficiency in a key material used in tank and combat-vehicle manufacturing, placing Egypt among only six countries able to produce it.

He said the ministry’s pavilion at EDEX 2025 includes a scale model of the 155mm/52-caliber (K9 A1 EGY) howitzer system, part of a strategic partnership with global defence companies to localize the latest technologies in the ministry’s factories.

The minister stressed that the K9 system is one of the world’s most advanced artillery platforms.

A full production line is being completed at one of the ministry’s factories using the original machining equipment, with the first battalion expected to be delivered to the Armed Forces in the first half of 2026.

Locally manufactured 155mm ammunition for the K9 is already available.

He also noted progress on the “Raad 200” rocket launcher, previously showcased at EDEX 2023. The launcher’s elevation and firing control systems have been upgraded from electrical to hydraulic, and its targeting system has been recalibrated.

The minister said Egyptians should be proud of these domestically produced systems, which support Egypt’s strength and its ability to maintain stability.

He reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to developing its military products and introducing new systems that meet the needs of the Armed Forces.

This work aligns with President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to localize advanced military manufacturing technologies in the ministry’s affiliated companies, strengthening Egypt’s deterrence capabilities and ensuring its readiness to protect national security.

He added that expanding domestic defence production sends a message of deterrence to any party that threatens Egypt and reassures citizens of the state’s ability to defend the country.

The fourth edition of EDEX 2025 is being held at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre from 1 to 4 December.

EDEX is the largest defence and armaments exhibition in the Middle East and Africa and is held every two years in Egypt.

This year’s edition includes national pavilions from 25 countries, exhibitors from around the world presenting advanced defence technologies, and official delegations from more than 100 countries.
