Egypt defence minister, chief of staff meet visiting military leaders on sidelines of EDEX 2025

On the sidelines of the opening day of the fourth edition of the Egypt Defence Expo (EDEX 2025), held at the Egypt International Exhibitions Centre from 1 to 4 December, Egypt’s top military leadership held a series of meetings with visiting defence officials.

General Abdel Mageed Saqr, commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces and minister of defence and military production, met with Rameau Claude Bireau, minister of national defence of the Central African Republic; Suren Papikyan, Armenia’s defence minister; and Sadio Camara, Mali’s minister of defence and veterans affairs.

The discussions reviewed recent regional and international developments, as well as a range of issues of mutual interest, particularly military cooperation, knowledge exchange, and defence-industry partnerships.

Armed Forces Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa also met with Lieutenant General Engineer Issa Saif Mohammed Al-Mazrouei, chief of staff of the UAE Armed Forces; General Mohamed El-Ghoul, chief of staff of the Tunisian army; and Major General Engineer Salah Massoud Al-Azmi, assistant chief of staff of the Kuwaiti army for logistics and supply.



Talks focused on ways to strengthen military cooperation across various defence fields and included an exchange of views on issues of mutual concern.

Several senior Armed Forces commanders and military delegations attended the meetings.
