Saed becomes the first Egyptian to play for Kiel, who have won a record 23 Bundesliga Handball titles and are regarded as one of the biggest clubs in the world.
The 22-year-old joined French side Nimes in the summer of 2023 but terminated his contract in November.
He is reportedly set to return to his boyhood club Ahly before completing his move to the German giants.
“I never would have dared to dream of playing for Kiel,” Saed told the club’s website.
“It is one of the biggest clubs in the world. I am honoured that the club believes in my abilities and has given me the chance to prove myself in the strongest league in the world.
“I hope to live up to their expectations and I will give everything to help Kiel.”
Saed made his senior international debut for Egypt at the 2023 World Handball Championship in Poland and Sweden, where the Pharaohs finished seventh.
