The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said mist is expected to form during the early morning hours, from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m., affecting some roads in northern parts of the country, including Greater Cairo, the northern Delta, northern Upper Egypt, and central Sinai. Visibility may be reduced at times.
Intermittent moderate rain is forecast along the northern coast, the northern Mediterranean shoreline, and northern Sinai, while lighter showers may occur periodically in southern coastal areas. Light rain is also possible in parts of southern Sinai, the Gulf of Suez, and the canal cities, with showers occasionally extending to Greater Cairo.
Active winds are expected across most regions, increasing the sensation of cold.
Maritime navigation will be disrupted in parts of the Mediterranean Sea, particularly off the coasts of Alamein, Alexandria, Beheira, Kafr El-Sheikh, Damietta, Port Said, Arish, and Rafah. Wind speeds are forecast to range between 40 and 60 kilometres per hour, with wave heights reaching 2.5 to 3.5 metres.
The EMA issued a marine warning for the Mediterranean Sea from 2 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, urging caution.
Temperatures are expected to reach highs of 20°C and lows of 12°C in Greater Cairo and the Delta. The north coast will see highs of 19°C and lows of 12°C.
In northern Upper Egypt, temperatures are forecast to range between 20°C during the day and 8°C at night, while southern Upper Egypt can expect highs of 24°C and lows of 10°C.
The meteorological authority advised citizens to take necessary precautions, particularly during early morning hours and in areas affected by reduced visibility, rainfall, strong winds, and maritime disturbances.
