Israeli reconnaissance drones flew at extremely low altitude over parts of southern Lebanon before the strikes, Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported. Civil defence teams from the Islamic Message Scout group, the Health Authority, and Kfar Melki municipality cordoned off roads leading to Kfar Hata as a precaution.
In the Jezzine district, authorities also closed access to the town of Anan on the Sidon–Jezzine road ahead of the attacks.
Israeli aircraft later carried out airstrikes in western Bekaa, hitting the village of al-Manara. One of the strikes targeted a residential building identified by the NNA as belonging to Sharhbil al-Sayed, a Hamas member previously killed by Israeli forces.
The attack destroyed one house and caused heavy damage to nearby homes, vehicles, and commercial properties.
Kfar Hata, in the Sidon district, was also struck by at least one Israeli air raid. Local authorities said an unexploded ordnance was found at one of the impact sites, leading to further road closures to prevent civilian casualties.
Additional Israeli strikes hit Ain al-Tineh in western Bekaa, while Israeli artillery shelled Wadi Alma al-Shaab towards al-Dhaira in southern Lebanon, according to the NNA.
Along the southern border, Israeli forces carried out controlled demolitions near Hamams Hill, close to al-Khiam in the Marjayoun district. Two separate explosive blasts were reported near newly established Israeli positions.
The attacks come despite a ceasefire agreed in November 2024, which halted Israel's war on Lebanon. However, Israel has continued military operations since the truce and maintains control over five areas in southern Lebanon.
Israel has killed 340 people in Lebanon since the ceasefire took effect, according to figures cited by Lebanese authorities.
Hezbollah has refused to disarm amid ongoing Israeli attacks and pressure from the United States and Israel. Last week, Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem stated that "to demand exclusive arms control while Israel is committing aggression and America is imposing its will on Lebanon, stripping it of its power, means that you are not working in Lebanon's interest, but rather in the interest of what Israel wants."
