The Upper Egyptian side clinched their place in the Premier League on Thursday after drawing 1-1 with Mansoura SC in the 33rd round of the Egyptian Professional League (second division).
Mansoura took the lead through Mohamed El-Said in the 34th minute, before Abdo Kashkash levelled from the penalty spot on 59 minutes.
The point moved Asyut Petroleum to 57 points, enough to confirm second place in the second-division standings and secure promotion, while Mansoura remain ninth on 43 points.
Asyut Petroleum become the second club to clinch promotion from the division this season, joining Canal SC, who wrapped up the title and top spot earlier in the campaign.
It will be the Asyut-based club's fourth season in the Premier League.
The club first earned promotion to the top flight in 2006/2007 but were relegated the same year, returned for 2008/2009 and remained up for a further season before relegation, marking their last appearance in the top flight until now.
