The Israeli occupation army said “a number of launches were detected toward Israeli territory” after warning sirens were activated in northern Israeli cities, AFP reported.

It added that the Israeli warplanes intercepted one projectile, while others fell in open areas. No injuries were reported.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah said in statements carried by Al Jazeera Arabic that it had targeted an Israeli army force on the road between Al-Bayyada and Bayt Al-Sayyad using a drone, with a successfull “direct hit.”

The resistance group also said it carried out a drone strike targeting an Israeli military vehicle near Khallat Al-Raj in the town of Deir Seryan in the South in retaliation to Israel ongoing killings.

Earlier, an Israeli strike killed four people including two women in the town of Toura, the health ministry said, as state media correspondents reported Israel was conducting widespread strikes.

Israeli occupation army also pummeled southern Lebanon on Thursday, killing three people.

The Israeli bombing on Thursday came hours after Israel assassinated a senior Hezbollah commander in a strike on Beirut on Wednesday evening, in the first such strike on the Lebanese capital since the start of the truce between Tel Aviv and the Lebanese resistance group on 17 April.

Since the start of the Israeli escalation on 2 March, Israeli strikes on Lebanon have killed more than 2,727, wounded more than 8,438, levelled tens of villages in the south, and destroyed tens of thousands of housing units.

Israeli strikes in Lebanon have also displaced over 1.3 million people since early March, according to authorities.
