In a statement, the Egyptian foreign ministry stressed that the continuation and repetition of these attacks constitute a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the UAE and a clear breach of the rules of international law and the UN Charter.

Cairo further affirmed that these attacks represent a direct threat to regional security and stability and an unacceptable escalation that undermines all regional and international efforts aimed at de-escalation and establishing the foundations of regional stability.

Egypt reiterated its support for all measures and actions Abu Dhabi takes to protect its security, stability, and national resources.

The statement comes amidst repeated attacks targeting the UAE in recent days. On Monday, the UAE Ministry of Defence announced that it had intercepted several cruise missiles launched from Iran toward the country.

A drone strike also triggered a fire at an energy facility in the emirate of Fujairah, while an Emirati oil tanker was also attacked in the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran denied responsibility for the attacks, a claim the UAE strongly rejected.

On Thursday, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi met with his Emirati counterpart Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi, reaffirming Egypt’s full solidarity with the UAE and its complete rejection of recent Iranian attacks on Emirati sovereignty.

He also described such attacks as a flagrant violation of international law and the UN Charter.

Since the outbreak of the US-Israel war on Iran on 28 February, Tehran fired dozens of drones and missiles at the UAE, making the Gulf nation the most targeted country by the Islamic Republic’s retaliatory strikes.
