and has now reached an unprecedented level.

The ambassador noted that the visit builds on President Macron’s significant trip to Egypt last year that culminated in elevating bilateral ties to the level of a “strategic partnership, , which is founded on mutual trust and respect."

He added that the visit also follows the first round of the strategic dialogue recently held between the two countries at the level of senior officials, during which both sides reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral relations and coordinated positions on regional and international issues in support of regional stability and diplomatic solutions.

Dahroug further highlighted the participation of the two presidents in inaugurating the new Senghor University in Borg El-Arab, describing it as a powerful message of the two countries’ commitment to supporting education and soft power as essential pillars of development across Africa.

He stressed that the institution is regarded as one of the leading projects within the Francophone sphere.

“Senghor University is not merely an academic institution,” Dahroug said. “It is a civilizational bridge linking Egypt, France, and the wider Francophone world, as well as a gateway for strengthening cooperation between Egypt and the African continent as a whole.

The inauguration of its new campus in Borg El-Arab, which has received full support from the Egyptian government, will significantly expand its capacity and reinforce Egypt’s role as a regional hub for training and preparing young African professionals in the fields of administration, health, environment, and culture.”

The ambassador also pointed to the growing momentum in economic cooperation between the two countries, particularly in expanding French investments in Egypt in sectors such as clean energy, transportation, and infrastructure.

He also highlighted efforts to broaden scientific and research cooperation and deepen partnerships between universities and research institutions in both countries.

Dahroug concluded by emphasizing that the state’s ongoing efforts to empower the private sector and attract foreign investment have created a favourable climate for strengthening the presence of French companies in Egypt.

He reaffirmed the strategic nature of the Egyptian-French partnership and Paris’s commitment to continuing support for economic and developmental cooperation while expanding the footprint of French companies in the Egyptian market.
