Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi warned on Sunday that the escalating Iranian crisis and intensifying regional tensions are casting a “negative and dangerous shadow” over regional stability and the global economy during an inspection tour of military institutions in the New Capital.
According to the Egyptian presidency, El-Sisi visited the Strategic Command Headquarters, where he was received by Minister of Defence and Military Production General Ashraf Salem Zaher and Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa.
The president performed Dhuhr prayers alongside senior military commanders before proceeding to the Egyptian Military Academy, where he reviewed training activities involving cadets from Egypt’s military colleges as well as trainees from various state institutions enrolled in the academy’s programmes.
El-Sisi underscored the importance of continuously sharpening students’ capabilities through advanced technical and personal development programmes aimed at preparing highly qualified national cadres capable of serving state institutions with efficiency, discipline, and professionalism.
During a luncheon with academy students, the president engaged in what the presidency described as an “interactive dialogue” on domestic developments and the rapidly evolving regional landscape.
El-Sisi said the Iranian crisis and mounting regional instability have imposed severe repercussions on regional security and the international economy, warning of the far-reaching consequences of continued escalation.
He also reaffirmed Egypt’s longstanding commitment to Arab solidarity and cohesion, stressing that safeguarding the stability of the Arab world remains a collective responsibility.
The president added that his visits to the academy are intended to personally follow up on students’ conditions and oversee the continued modernization of educational and training programmes. He praised the discipline and commitment demonstrated by trainees from both military colleges and civilian state institutions.
El-Sisi concluded his tour by recording a message of appreciation to the Armed Forces leadership and extending his best wishes to academy students, while highlighting the role of Egyptian families in raising generations capable of advancing the country’s development ambitions.
