On Friday 15 May, Heliopolis marks the launch of the Heliopolis Anniversary Week (HAW), the event, which will be celebrated annually, is the brainchild of Heliopolis Heritage Initiative (HHI); a grassroots organization safeguarding and highlighting the essence of the intangible and tangible cultural heritage of the ancient district since 2011.
This year, the HAW is celebrating 121 years of Heliopolis over a full week of talks, exhibitions, a classic car carnival, and walks to allow visitors to marvel at the architectural gems of Heliopolis, the City of the Sun.
