Marmoush started the final and played an important role before being substituted after halftime as Pep Guardiola’s side lifted the trophy for the third time under the Spanish manager.

The 27-year-old Egyptian international had already won the League Cup with City earlier this season following their 2-0 victory over Arsenal at Wembley in March.

Marmoush also made a strong contribution to City’s FA Cup run, scoring twice in the 3-1 victory over Newcastle United in the round of 16 to help send his side into the quarterfinals.

He later featured in City’s emphatic 4-0 win over Liverpool in the quarterfinals and the 2-1 semifinal victory against Southampton.

Since joining City in 2025, Marmoush has established himself as a valuable attacking option, scoring 16 goals in 60 appearances across all competitions.

This season, he has netted eight goals in 35 appearances in all competitions.

Antoine Semenyo scored the decisive goal in Saturday’s final with an audacious back-heel finish that secured City’s narrow win over Chelsea.

The victory ended City’s run of back-to-back FA Cup final defeats against Crystal Palace and Manchester United.

Guardiola meanwhile lifted his third FA Cup title with City after previous successes in 2019 and 2023, taking his overall tally with the club to 20 trophies.
