Despite an October ceasefire, Gaza remains gripped by daily violence as Israeli strikes continue, with both the military and Hamas accusing one another of violating the truce.

"Five martyrs have been brought to hospitals as a result of Israeli strikes today so far in the Gaza Strip," said the civil defence agency.

According to the agency, three people were killed in an Israeli drone strike in the central area of Deir el-Balah.

Another Palestinian died in an Israeli strike in the southern Mawasi district of Khan Yunis, while Israeli gunfire killed a fifth person in Gaza City.

Hospitals in Gaza confirmed receiving the bodies of the victims.

The ceasefire has largely halted the war in Gaza that began on October 7, 2023.

But violence has persisted, with at least 871 Palestinians killed since the truce began, according to Gaza's health ministry, which operates under Hamas authority and whose figures are considered reliable by the United Nations.

Since October 2023, Israel's genocidal war on the Gaza Strip has killed at least 72,760 Palestinians, with over 172,600 others injured, according to the Palestinian health ministry's latest figures.
