The country currently has over 270 outsourcing centers for global companies to use and provide digital services for their clients worldwide, and is currently implementing the second phase of its outsourcing industry development strategy.

Outsourcing exports, which consist of providing technology and business services to global clients, have reached $5.2 billion in 2025, surpassing the expected $4.8 billion worth of exports in 2025.

The remarks were made by the minister during the seventh meeting of the private Information and Communications Technology (ICT) association, the IT, Electronics and Software Alliance (EiTESAL), under the theme Meeting with the Government.

Hindy confirmed that the ministry will continue enhancing the Digital Egypt Platform, the state’s initiative to digitize government services, drive efficiency, and economic growth.

Furthermore, the ministry is planning on expanding the over 200 available digital services for the citizens and adding 50 more services in 2026, in cooperation with several entities.

Another plan is in the pipeline, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, to improve the coverage of the platform and cater to Egyptians working abroad.

This is alongside working with the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade to simplify the licensing system, obtain digital services for companies across their life cycles, and target economic activities favored by investors.

The aim is to focus on expediting the pace of digital transformation, localizing technology, creating job opportunities, improving digital capabilities, and developing secure digital infrastructure to attract investments.

Moreover, the ICT sector in Egypt has grown by 18.9 percent during the third quarter of the current FY 2025/2026, as Egypt bolsters its efforts to position itself as a regional hub for the sector and for the outsourcing industry.

It’s worth noting that there’s a target to increase the number of mobile phones produced in Egypt to over 15 million devices by the end of 2026, from the 10 million produced in 2025.

The move aims to expand exports to foreign markets to more than 40 percent while deepening local added value, as part of a broader push to expand domestic manufacturing capacity, and localize electronics manufacturing and adopt advanced technology for the 15 mobile phone brands manufactured in Egypt.

The ministry is also planning to train 800,000 individuals in digital training and qualification programmes across various age groups and specializations to enhance human capital in the ICT sector and digital capabilities for the youth.

Egypt has been working to expedite investing in data sovereignty and building nationwide frameworks to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies, and apply them in education, banking, healthcare, customs clearance, and public services.

These efforts are part of Egypt’s Digital Transformation Strategy, which targets to attract and generate around $42.7 billion in AI-related investments, with AI accounting for 7.7 percent of GDP by 2030.
