Zamalek celebrated a triumphant end to their domestic campaign on Wednesday, clinching their 15th Egyptian Premier League title after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Ceramica Cleopatra in the final round of the competition, thanks to a first-half goal by Palestinian striker Oday Dabbagh, marking their first title since 2022.

Following the final whistle, Dabbagh, who earned Man of the Match award, praised the squad’s mental fortitude and credited the unwavering support of the club’s faithful for the turnaround.

"Congratulations to the Zamalek fans and the coaching staff. It has been a long, demanding season, and I am grateful that our hard work was rewarded with the league title," Dabbagh told OnSport television after the match.

Reflecting on the swift recovery from their continental disappointment, Dabbagh emphasized the emotional impact of the fans, what many are calling the "Fans" effect, which pushed the players to redeem themselves against Ceramica Cleopatra.

"After losing the Confederation Cup, we prepared with even greater focus for this match," Dabbagh added. "The team rose to the challenge, and our supporters were our primary source of strength throughout the ordeal."

The striker also took a moment to offer words of encouragement to teammate Mohamed Shehata, saying, "Missing chances is a normal part of football. I congratulate him on winning the league."

Veteran midfielder Abdullah El Said echoed Dabbagh's sentiments, emphasising the crucial role supporters played in the team's recovery from continental disappointment.

"We would not have overcome the Confederation Cup loss without our fans' support," El Said told ON Sport. "We united after that defeat and pledged to compensate them. These supporters deserved this moment of joy."
