According to the Egyptian cabinet, tourist arrivals to Egypt rose by 20.5 percent in 2025 compared with 2024, with growth continuing into 2026.
During the first four months of this year, Egypt welcomed 6.1 million tourists, marking a seven percent increase from the 5.7 million visitors recorded during the same period last year.
Egypt currently receives tourists from 179 countries, while implementing tailored promotional strategies for each market, as part of a broader plan to attract 30 million tourists annually by 2030, it stated.
In the same context, the cabinet indicated that Britain’s The Times described Egypt as an outstanding and affordable tourist destination distinguished by the friendliness and hospitality of its people.
The newspaper noted that few countries could rival Egypt’s tourism momentum in recent years, adding that the country has consistently ranked among the top-selling destinations according to London-based Advantage Travel Partnership, which represents independent travel agencies.
The report also highlighted annual Post Office Travel Money surveys, which have repeatedly ranked Red Sea resorts among destinations offering excellent value for money.
According to The Times, most tourists visiting Egypt head to Cairo, where the Grand Egyptian Museum officially opened in November 2025, showcasing 7,000 years of history.
The newspaper also pointed to other major attractions, including the Giza Pyramids, Nile cruises to Aswan, Alexandria’s relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere, as well as diving and marine exploration activities in the Red Sea.
