Kuwait condemned on Thursday a drone-and-missile attack it blamed on Iran, as the Islamic Republic's renewed exchanges with US forces heaped pressure on the Middle East war's fragile ceasefire.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egypt affirmed that it “denounces in the strongest terms the attacks on the State of Kuwait,” reiterating Cairo’s firm rejection of any actions that undermine the sovereignty, security, and safety of Arab states and their citizens.
The statement emphasized Egypt’s complete support for Kuwait in confronting these developments, highlighting the importance of protecting the country’s stability and the safety of its people.
Cairo also underscored its backing for Kuwait’s sovereign measures in response to the incident, stressing the need for adherence to international law and relevant United Nations frameworks, as well as accountability for those responsible.
The foreign ministry noted that Egypt’s position reflects its consistent policy of solidarity with Arab states in the face of threats to their security, and its commitment to regional stability and collective Arab security.
Egypt called for mobilizing international and diplomatic efforts to deter such violations and prevent their recurrence, reaffirming the importance of upholding the principles of good neighbourliness and respect for state sovereignty.
