an engaging music listening session accompanied by a rich narrative exploring the early beginnings of Egypt’s independent music band movement and its stages of development. Sat 6, 12pm: BA, through its Centre for Special Studies and Programmes (CSSP) of the Academic Research Sector, in cooperation with the Arab Regional Partner of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS-AREP), will host a public lecture titled “Causality and Decision-Making” to be delivered by Nobel Prize-winning economist Professor Guido W. Imbens, recipient of the 2021 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences. Imbens is a professor of economics at Stanford University, a senior fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research, and co-director of the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence. The lecture will examine the growing role of causal inference in modern statistical analysis and its importance in understanding the underlying causes behind observed data.
