The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) dispatched its 208th "Zad Al-Izza" convoy to Gaza on Thursday, carrying 2,786 tons of humanitarian aid, including food supplies, flour, medical equipment, relief items, fuel, clothing, and tents for Palestinians in the strip, the organization said.

The convoy, comprising several aid trucks, departed for Gaza in the early hours of Thursday as part of the ERC's role as Egypt's national mechanism for coordinating humanitarian assistance to the territory.

The shipment included donated meat, food baskets, flour, medical supplies, relief materials, and petroleum products needed to operate hospitals and other critical facilities in Gaza, according to the ERC.

The organization said it had also strengthened support for displaced Palestinians by providing clothing and tents to help meet their basic shelter needs.

The latest dispatch comes as humanitarian conditions in Gaza continue to deteriorate amid ongoing Israeli military operations and widespread displacement across the territory.

The ERC has maintained a presence at the Egyptian side of the Rafah border since the outbreak of the Israeli war on Gaza, overseeing aid deliveries and coordinating relief efforts through its logistics network.

The organization said the Rafah crossing has never been closed from the Egyptian side and that its teams have remained on high alert across all logistics centres to facilitate the entry of humanitarian assistance into the strip.

According to the ERC, Egypt has delivered more than 995,000 tons of aid to Gaza since the start of the war, with support from more than 65,000 volunteers nationwide.

Meanwhile, Israeli military operations have continued across the Gaza Strip.

On Thursday, Israeli airstrikes killed at least eight Palestinians, including five members of the same family, in separate attacks before dawn, according to Palestinian health officials.

According to Gaza health authorities, about 930 Palestinians have been killed and more than 2,786 wounded in Israeli strikes since the latest ceasefire came into effect in October 2025.
