The footage, widely shared on social media, appeared to show the official attempting to bargain with the woman over her daughter's school transfer request.
The video, reportedly recorded using the woman's smartwatch, captured a conversation in which the official told her, "You're attractive and I liked you," before suggesting he could facilitate the transfer if she spent time with him at his home.
In a statement, the ministry said that legal measures have been taken against him.
Authorities also identified the woman referred to in the case, a housewife residing in Alexandria.
During questioning, the woman stated that she had sought to transfer her daughter to a school near her residence in Alexandria following her separation from her husband.
After the school administration rejected the transfer request, the woman said, she approached the relevant educational authority on 11 May, where she met the official in question.
For its part, the Administrative Prosecution Authority announced it has launched an investigation into the incident and urgently summoned several officials from the Qalyoubia education directorate for questioning.
On Wednesday, Qalyoubia Governor Hossam Abdel Fattah ordered an investigation, removed the official from his assignment, and suspended him from work for three months pending the investigation.
The incident has drawn widespread attention online and comes amid broader efforts by the state to address complaints of misconduct and harassment within the education sector.
