Egypt considered these attacks a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of these sisterly countries and a highly dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region as a whole, the statement added.
Egypt reaffirmed its full solidarity with the sisterly nations of Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait in confronting these unacceptable attacks. It expressed its support for all measures taken by those countries to preserve their security and stability and protect their citizens and national capabilities.
Egypt also stressed that the security and stability of the Arab states are integral to Egypt’s national and Arab security.
It reiterated its categorical rejection of any actions or practices that undermine the sovereignty, security, or territorial integrity of states, while emphasizing the importance of de-escalation and respect for international law to safeguard regional security and stability.
Egypt has consistently condemned Iranian attacks on Arab Gulf countries and Jordan, emphasizing that the security of the Gulf and Arab states is inseparable from Egyptian national security.
Egypt's latest condemnation of the Iranian attacks on Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait comes amid a sharp deterioration in regional security and a broader Egyptian diplomatic push to contain escalating tensions linked to the US-Iran confrontation and renewed military exchanges across the Middle East.
The Iranian attacks come after a dangerous escalation involving US and Iranian forces. On Wednesday morning, the US launched multiple strikes against Iranian targets after it claimed that an army helicopter was downed by Iranian drones over Hormuz. Shortly afterwards, Iran launched missile and drone attacks targeting US-linked facilities in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
Jordan reported intercepting several missiles, while Gulf states activated their air defences amid fears of a wider conflict.
Over the past two weeks, Cairo has repeatedly called for the preservation of diplomatic channels between Washington and Tehran.
Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held separate contacts with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, and several Arab counterparts to support ongoing US-Iran negotiations and prevent a wider regional conflict.
On Monday, Egypt renewed its warning that prolonged tensions between the United States and Iran could deepen the region's security, economic, and geopolitical crises, stressing the need for a swift agreement between the two sides.
