Egypt settles all outstanding foreign oil and gas arrears
Egypt has fully settled its dues owed to foreign oil and gas partners, reducing outstanding payments to zero, down from $6.1 billion on 30 June 2024, restoring investor confidence in the country’s investment climate, the cabinet stated on Wednesday.
The last remaining outstanding amount of $440 million from May was paid in full, following the most recent change in schedule to 10 June 2026. This is ahead of the previously scheduled time of 30 June or the end of the current FY 2025/2026.
